About Us

Aluna Hotel was designed, built and is run by Dubliner architect Patrick Fleming. A longtime resident of Santa Marta Patrick’s knowledge of the area and its environs is invaluable to any visitor wanting to use Santa Marta as a base to discover Colombia’s Caribbean coast and the Sierra Nevada.

Pat has lived in South America on and off for over 20 years. He ran a B&B in Banos, Ecudaor, hung out with the buddhists in Merida, Venezuela. Then about the year 2000 his good friend, the 'famous' Herman of Platypus Hostel in Bogota told him of a farm that was for sale in the Santa Marta region and he's been here ever since.
